A good day at Cater Expo in Newcastle

Wenlock Spring brought a simple challenge to Cater Expo and plenty of good conversation followed. The day offered a chance to meet visitors, welcome new faces to the stand, and celebrate one well-judged guess.

Trade shows are often at their best when they leave room for proper conversation. That was very much the case for Wenlock Spring at Cater Expo, where the team spent the day meeting visitors, talking all things hospitality and foodservice, and adding a light-hearted challenge to the stand.

The challenge was straightforward. Visitors were invited to guess how many bottle caps were inside an 18.9L bottle. It gave people a reason to stop, take a closer look and have a chat, which is often how the most useful conversations begin at events like these.

The closest guess came from Philip Wise of Newcastle United Football Club, who was named the winner on the day. His prize was a bottle of Spring Water Vodka, presented by Alan Souter. Congratulations to Philip, and thank you to everyone who took part.

For Wenlock Spring, events like Cater Expo are about more than being present. They are a chance to spend time with the people who shape hospitality and foodservice day to day, from operators and buyers to venue teams and long-standing contacts. A simple challenge can break the ice, but the value is in the conversations around it.

It was also a welcome opportunity to be part of Turner Price’s growing Cater Expo at Utilita Arena Newcastle. A well-run event creates space for useful exchanges, and that is what makes these days worthwhile: not just visibility, but genuine connection.

Thank you again to everyone who visited the Wenlock Spring stand. Whether you entered the challenge, stopped for a quick chat, or spent longer talking through the needs of your site or sector, it was a pleasure to meet you.
