Wenlock Spring has always been sugar-free. Now the bottle has slimmed down too. The same amount of water, the same size bottle - but lightweight glass means that the 330ml bottle has lost 18% of its weight and the 750ml bottle is 17% lighter.

Wenlock Spring were looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint to benefit the environment. They teamed up with packaging specialist, Rawlings, to the develop the UK's lightest weight glass bottle in the hospitality sector. The lightweight glass ticks off Wenlock Spring's environmental concerns as it means they use less glass to make the same amount of bottles - making British glass go further.

Customers can benefit too...

1. Less weight in their glass disposal

2. Supporting Wenlock Spring in contributing to the sustainability of the environment - glass is endlessly 100% recyclable with no loss of quality.

Steve Land, Managing Director of Swallow, the West Midlands leading independent drinks wholesaler, commented:  “We are always looking for ways to make our business increasingly efficient. Cost savings are important but of equal consideration is our impact on the environment. The new lightweight glass from Wenlock Spring delivers positive results in both of these areas. The reduction in weight helps us in ways that you would not initially consider - and means that we have something to then communicate to our customers. It is about all working together with the same overall aims - and the continual steps being taken at Wenlock Spring regarding their environmental approach, helps us as a business too."

Matthew Orme, Director of Wenlock Spring, commented; "Our bottle has lost weight! Elegant looking, refreshing, hydrating and now much more environmentally friendly. Through technical innovation, packaging specialist Rawlings, have been able to reduce the weight of the previous glass bottle - helping us reduce our carbon footprint. For our customers selecting lightweight glass - they have less glass weight to dispose of and are too making a positive environmental impact."
